Normand J. Brisson, age 84, of Swansea, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Center in Fall River, leaving behind a lifetime of memories with family and friends who meant the world to him. He was the beloved husband of the late Doris H. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Rene and Bernadette (Desmarais) Brisson. Normand dedicated more than 40 years of hard work to Gold Medal Bakery, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and dedication.
Normand was a proud and devoted father and grandfather who truly lived for his family. His two sons, Robert and Brian Brisson, were his pride and joy. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his grandchildren—Kyle, Cassidy, Ashley, and Ryan—who brought him endless pride and happiness. He was also the loving great-grandfather of Kinsley, Lainey, and Emma who brought him so much joy.
Normand enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He was a lifelong and passionate Boston Red Sox fan and rarely missed the chance to watch a game. He loved fishing, boating, and spending time outdoors, especially when the weather was warm. He took great pride in caring for his yard and enjoyed being outside keeping it looking its best. An avid boater, he spent many memorable days on the water and was a proud member of the Sagamore Boat Club.
He also loved to have fun and enjoy life. Normand enjoyed gambling, collecting shot glasses, and almost always had a cold beer nearby. Most of all, he loved to joke around and make people laugh. His quick wit and playful sense of humor brought smiles to everyone around him and will be remembered by all who knew him.
Normand’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of the Charlton Unit at Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Center, who lovingly cared for him. They often referred to him as the “Mayor of Sarah Brayton,” a reflection of the warmth and personality he shared with everyone there.
He is survived by his two sons, Robert N. Brisson and his wife Wendy of Swansea, and Brian M. Brisson and his wife Marianne of Taunton; his brother, Maurice Brisson and his wife Lorraine of Somerset; his four grandchildren, Kyle Brisson of Swansea, and Cassidy Lambert and her husband Benjamin of Swansea Ashley Ventura and her husband Tyler of Swansea, Ryan Morin and his wife Sarah of Woonsocket, RI; and his three great-grandchildren Kinsley, Lainey, and Emma. He also leaves his in-laws Wally and Julie Szczepkowski and Helen McCrohan, along with several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Raymond Brisson.
Normand will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his love of the outdoors, his humor, and most of all the deep love he had for his family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
