Paris A. Casimiro, age 24, of Swansea, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 2, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the loving daughter of Aguinaldo J. Casimiro, and the late Sandy Casimiro, and most recently, step-mom Teresa Casimiro.
Born in Providence, Paris lived a joyous life. Paris was a student at the Schwartz Center for Children in Dartmouth for many years and most recently moved to Community Connections in Fall River. At both day programs, Paris enjoyed spending time with her friends and dedicated staff members, completing activities she loved throughout each day, while sharing her laughter and positive attitude with others.
Paris’ shining smile and gentle voice lit up every room she entered. Although Paris lived with Cerebral Palsy, she didn’t let it impact her positive attitude and caring tone. Paris enjoyed spending time outside of school with her family and friends, including at large Portuguese family parties. Even in the face of adversity, the simplest parts of life brought great joy to Paris. Her cheerful attitude glowed on all of those around her.
Paris always asked how others were doing, where they were, and when they might come by and visit her. You couldn’t go more than a few minutes with Paris without her asking you for a hug, a kiss or to hold your hand. Paris enjoyed watching television, specifically Law and Order, each day. She was an amusing, brave, energetic and loving daughter and friend to all she encountered.
In addition to her surviving parents and two brothers, Matthew and Elias Casimiro of Swansea; survivors include: multiple aunts and uncles; cousins; and friends and family. Paris is also survived by her dearest family friends; Terry and Joseph Souza of Somerset and son Geoffrey; along with son Kyle Souza and his wife Rachael of Dartmouth.
She’s also survived by paternal grandparents, Paulo and Luisa Casimiro of Swansea; maternal grandparents Manuel and Maria Abilheira.
The family wishes to send gratitude and thanks to the employees of both the Schwartz Center and Community Connections for their empathetic care and dedication to Paris for many years.
