Paul E. Shileikis, age 62, of North Dighton, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Morton Hospital. He was the loving husband of Terri (Soares) Shileikis to whom he has been married for the past 27 years.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of Geraldine (Goeman) Shileikis of Redford, Michigan and the late George Shileikis. He spent his youth in Redford and was stationed in Newport, Rhode Island while serving in the United States Navy aboard the USS Connole, the USS Manley and the USS Volgelgesang. After his service, he remained in the area and has been a resident of North Dighton for over 25 years.
A graduate of Redford Union High School, he attended Bristol Community College and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Roger Williams University. He worked as a Police Officer for the Town of Swansea for 32 years prior to his retirement in 2016. Paul and Terri dedicated their lives to following their son Brandon’s baseball career and they cherished the many friendships they have made over the years.
An avid hunter, Paul was a member of the Somerset Sportsman Club, the Dighton V.F.W., the Davey Crockett Rod and Gun Club in Greely, PA, the Swansea Police Patrolman Association and the Massachusetts Fraternal Order of Police.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one son, Brandon Shileikis of North Dighton; step-daughter, Elizabeth Singh and her husband Julien of MD; two brothers, Robert Shileikis and his wife Christine of Redford, MI, George Shileikis and his wife Nancy of Loveland, CO; mother-in-law, Ann Soares of Swansea; brother-in-law, Marc Soares and his wife Stacey of Swansea; two grandsons, Matthew and Adam Singh and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
His Funeral will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 9:00AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck. Rd., Swansea, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00PM. Contributions in his honor may be made to the National Ataxia Foundation, P.O. Box 27986, Golden Valley, MN 55427. Burial private.
