Phyllis A. Chiavettone

Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Rita (Beaulieu) Alvarnaz. A graduate of Taunton High School, Phyllis received her Nursing Certificate from Fitchburg State University and worked as a Registered Nurse at Country Gardens Nursing Home in Swansea for over 40 years.

Phyllis enjoyed cooking, cross stitch, collecting shells, and watching and attending car races, especially at Seekonk Speedway where she and Jerry went on their first date. She was a member of the South Rehoboth Fire Auxiliary.

Besides her husband, Phyllis is survived by three children, Audra Miller and her husband James of Swansea, Gerald “Heath” Chiavettone of Oakland, CA and Natalino “Brett” Chiavettone and his wife Michelle of Swansea; one sister, June Thielker of Taunton; four grandchildren, Anthony, Isabella, Brett Jr. and Vincenzo Chiavettone as well as many nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 10:00 AM in St. Dominic’s Church, 1277 G.A.R. Highway, Swansea. Relatives and friends wishing to attend are kindly asked to proceed directly to the church and arrive no later than 9:45 AM. Burial in Vinnicum Woods Cemetery, Swansea. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Phyllis’ honor may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, PO Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
