

Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Seth and Sara (Saucier) Chace and was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School. Mr. Chace was employed as a Manager for over 50 years for Enroute Maternities until his retirement and he later worked for the Swansea School Department as a Custodian for several years.
Mr. Chace served his country in the United States Army during World War II. An avid golfer, he was a member of Gallery’s Golf Club and Touisset Country Club. He was also involved in several card and bowling leagues in the area.
Surviving in addition to his wife are five children Raymond J. Chace Jr. and his wife Nancy of Swansea, Lucy Ellen Burke and her husband Bill of N. Providence, Lori Ann Blackburn of N. Providence and Paula Jean Chace of Swansea and Michael J. Chace and his wife Maggie of Amesbury, MA; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also the brother of the late Isabelle Hague.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 8am from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT BIRCHCREST 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea followed by his funeral mass at 9am in St. Dominic’s Church 1277 GAR Highway, Swansea. Visiting hours Monday from 4 to 7pm. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Providence.
