Born in Fall River, MA a son of the late Honore and Evangeline (Pelletier) Lachance he was a lifelong resident of Swansea.
A Veteran of the United States Army he served during the Vietnam Era. An Ironworker for 13 years he was also the co-owner of Ark Bait Company, he was a Commercial Fisherman for 32 years before retiring in 2009.
A member of the Local 37 in Providence and the American Legion 303, he was an avid NASCAR fan.
He was the father of the late Lisa J. Lachance and brother of the late Beatrice Dion.
He is survived by his former wife and best friend, Elise M. Lachance; two brothers, Daniel F. Lachance and Hank Lachance; one sister, Jeanette Surprenant and many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 9:00AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea, followed by his Funeral Mass 10:00AM in Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Visiting hours, Monday, from 4:00 to 6:00PM. Contributions in his honor may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Swansea.
