

Ronald H. Manchester, “Ron,” age 74, of Swansea, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (Silvia) Manchester to whom he has been married for the past 50 years.
Born in Fall River, a son of the late Otis and Lauretta (Beaulieu) Manchester, he lived in Fall River for many years before moving to Swansea in 1999.
A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, class of 1957, he was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked as a Mainframe Computer Operator at Stanley Bostitch in East Greenwich for 29 years before retiring in 1994. After that he worked in the same field at the former Cherry and Webb Department Store and the Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Manchester enjoyed going to Foxwoods and playing the lottery. He and his wife enjoyed vacationing with Bob and Gladys who are not only relations but also very good friends.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons; Ronald A. Manchester and his wife Un Ki and Richard A. Manchester and his wife Dawn all of Swansea and a brother; Leo Manchester and his wife Beatrice of Fall River. He was grandfather to his cherished granddaughter Kayla Lynn, and much loved grandsons Timothy, and Thomas Manchester, Ronald Manchester Jr. and Richard Manchester Jr., four great grandchildren; Kaedyn, Chasyti, and Rielyn Bononaca, and Landon Manchester all whom he adored and several nieces and nephews. He was twin brother of the late Roger Manchester and brother of the late Robert and Edward Manchester.
His Funeral will be held Monday, November 26, 2012 at 8:00AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Rd. Swansea followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00AM in St. Dominic’s Church, 1277 G.A.R. Highway, Swansea. Visiting hours Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. In lieu of flowers contributions in his honor may be made to Southcoast Hospice 200 Mill Rd. Fairhaven, MA 02719. Burial will be private.
