Sandra Ann Smith, a cherished mother, lifelong partner, devoted sister, and beloved nana and great grandmother, passed away at home, surrounded by family, on March 31, 2024, at the age of 73. She was born on November 17, 1950, in Fall River, Massachusetts, to Mary (Edna) E Reed Smith and Francis (Frank) E. Smith. Sandra grew up in Somerset, where she developed her strong values and deep connections to family.
Throughout her early life, Sandra excelled in her professional endeavors. She had a successful career at Aetna Life Insurance, BMC Durfee Attleboro Bank, and Slades Ferry Bank, where she demonstrated her dedication, professionalism, and compassion towards her colleagues and clients.
Sandra's greatest joy in life was her family. She shared a lifelong partnership with Joseph Silvia, and together they created a loving home filled with warmth and laughter. She was a devoted mother to her sons and dedicated her life to the care and wellbeing of her youngest son, Jared F. Hill.
Caring for her until the end, Sandra is also survived by her oldest son Jason P. Hill and his partner Melissa Andresen. Sandra was a proud Nana to Jason F. Hill and his wife Nicole Hill, Mackenzie Hill, Brady LePage, Jackson LePage, and a great-granddaughter, Lillyana Hill. Her love for her family was unconditional, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She is survived by her brothers, Kenneth F. Smith and Barry K. Smith; and several beloved nieces and nephews. Sandra was preceded in death by her sister, Frances E. Smith.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her strength, love, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Her funeral will be held on April 5, 2024 at 9am from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd, Swansea followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Patrick’s Church, 306 South St., Somerset.
