

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late James R. and Helen (O’Brien) Smith, she spent her youth in Fall River before moving to Swansea in 1961.
A graduate of Dominican Academy, she graduated from the University of Rhode Island and received her master’s degree from Boston University. She also received post graduate credits from Brown University and UMass, Lowell. Mrs. Kimball was an English Language Learner Reading Specialist at Lincoln Grammar School in Fall River for 35 years before retiring.
She was a communicant of St. Dominic’s Church where she was a former lector and choir member. She was also a member of the Retired Educators of Massachusetts, the Fall River and Massachusetts Teacher’s Association, the Fall River Educators Association and the Fall River Art Association. She served on the Board for Swansea Village, the Swansea Concert Association and the Cedar Cove Club.
Mrs. Kimball was a member of a classical and folk choir. Her best times spent were at Baker’s Beach which was one of her favorites places and with her family especially with grandchildren who she adored.
She is survived by one daughter, Marcia Rego and her husband Peter of Fall River; three sons, Thomas Harrison and his wife Paula of Cocoa Beach, FL, David Harrison and his wife Lyn of Ashland, MA, James Kimball Jr. of Thailand. Eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two on the way, and three great-great- grandchildren.
Her Funeral will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 11:00AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial tribute at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours prior to her service from 10:00 to 11:00AM. Contributions in her honor may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Burial private.
