Born in Fall River, a son of the late Manuel and Angelina (Arruda) Raposa, he lived in Swansea most of his life and was a graduate of Joseph Case High School.
A retired truck driver and dispatcher for Merit Dress Delivery in Fall River, he also worked as an instructor for New England Tractor Trailer School in Pawtucket, RI and Trembleys Bus in Fall River and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.
Surviving in addition to his wife: children: Brendalee Carter of Seekonk, Donna Frates and husband Timothy, Kenneth Raposa and wife Tracie all of Swansea and Jason Raposa and wife Holly of Worcester, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and his beloved dog “Bailey”. He was brother of the late Robert A. Raposa.
His funeral will be held Monday December 23, 2013 at 9AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea with a funeral mass at 10 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea. Visiting hours Sunday 1-4 PM. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
