

Born in Fall River, the son of the late Raymond Gosciminski and Mary (Dunaj) Gosciminski Chew, he was a lifelong area resident, was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School, class of 1960, he received his associates degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology and bachelor’s degree from Roger Williams University. Walter was an engineer at Raytheon for close to 20 years, and was the assistant facilities director at U-Mass, Dartmouth. Upon his retirement he
worked part-time for H & S Tool Co. making golf putters.
Walter loved to spend time with his grandchildren, he was an avid golfer, a longtime member and current board member at the Fall River Country Club, was a past Master and current Treasurer of the Massasoit- Narragansett Masonic Lodge, past District Deputy Grand Master of the Fall River 30th Masonic District and was the treasurer of the U-Mass Retiree’s Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Betsy A. LaBonte and her husband David of Sturbridge; a son, Jeffrey S. Gosciminski and his wife Beth of CT; a sister in law, Cheryl Turner and her husband Arnie, NC; and three grandchildren, Ryan Diggle, Emma and Kelly Gosciminski; and nieces.
His Funeral Service will be Friday, December 30, 2016 at 10:00AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea. Visiting hours Thursday, 4:30PM to 7:00PM. Burial in Vinnicum Woods.
