It is with great sadness that we the family of Bessie Victoria Hollingsworth announce her passing on April 5th 2011. Born May 30, 1923 in Sydney Mines, she was a daughter of the late William and Ethel (Waye) Delaney. Bessie was a homemaker all of her life and would always give to others before herself. She is survived by daughters, June (George) Keeping, Ramea, NFLD; Donna (Norm) Purchase, St. Brendans, NFLD; Debbie (Weldon) Morrison, Calgary; Katie Shebid, Georgetown, Ont; Patti (Cecil) Power, Bras d ‘Or; Ethel (Gordon) Walters, North Sydney; Lois, North Sydney; sons, Bill (Ann), London, Ont.; Ronald (Marilyn), Sydney Mines; Robert, Kempt Head; Johnny, Alberta; Danny, London, Ont; brother, Lewie, Northwest Territories; sisters- in- law, Freda Huggard, Welland, Ont and Pat Delaney; 31 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, John “Googes” Henry in 1974; son, Sandy; brother, George Delaney.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 11 in Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. Mr. Cyril Keeping will officiate.

A special thank you to the staff at Miners Manor and Celtic Court, Sydney Mines for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Bessie also to Dr. Kolsmith for all his care over the years.
