It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our mother Eva (Evie) MacLennan, 70, on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Born in Bras D’Or Oct. 11, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Jenny (Young) Clarke.

In her earlier years Evie worked at the fish Plants in North Sydney and Alder Point where she had enjoyed many of laughs among her many friends. She loved to kick up her heels at the dances with her friends. She also enjoyed her game of Bingo and her pit stops at the Army and Navy in Bras d’Or.

Eva is survived by son Norman, Ross Ferry; daughters; Eileen (David), Sydney Mines; Darlene (Donnie) Bras D’Or, Jean (Darren), Ont, daugher-in-law Joann Day. Grandchildren Emily, Katie, David, Michael, Justin, Brandon, Tyler, DonRyan, Ian and special grandchildren Todd and Matthew, she is also survived by six great-grandchildren. Sisters, Barbara (James), Glace Bay; Eileen (Dougie) Bras d’Or, and Deloris, Sydney, Brother; Norman (Valerie), Bras d’Or and step mother Lila Lynk Bras d’Or. Sister – in laws; Betty Clarke North Sydney, Anita (Dave) Ont, Annie (Alfred) Florence, Janis (James ) Halifax, Brother-in-laws, Morris, Florence; Howard (Dena) Grove Point, Billy(Helen) Florence, Johnny (Mary) Ont, Best Friend Lorraine, Bras d’Or. Along with Numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

She is predeceased by husband Angus (Gussie), Sister Sis and Brothers; Robert , Donnie and Gerald. Brother-in-law Robbie, and nephews Joe Glen Clarke, Robbie Spencer and Jeffrey Hicks.

Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 Wednesday December 19th at Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday December 20th, at 2 pm in Trinity Anglican Church, Sydney Mines with Rev Stacey Lemoine Officiating. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery.
