Helen Theresa Howatson

It is with Great sadness we the family of Helen Theresa “McNeil” Howatson announce the peaceful passing of our Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt & friend into the Presence of her Lord and Savior.

Mom was born in Alder Point on June 27, 1922 to the late Peter C and Sophia (Doucette)McNeil.

The last seventeen years mom resided at the home of Granddaughter Darlene & Wayne Brown with the help of Daughter Muriel and Annie she was lovingly cared for.

Our Dear Mother was predeceased by her husband Robert, son Cyril, granddaughter Ann Marie, grand son Robert, and her sisters Mary Lou, Monica, Minnie, Rita, Agnes and Hilda.

Left to mourn mom are her children Annie (George) Reid, Florence; Edison (Agnes), Sydney Mines; Muriel (Gordon) MacDonald, Millville; Shirley (Kevin) O’Driscoll, Labrador City; Pam (Neil) Dandy, Sydney; Tom (Mary) Auccoin, New Waterford; Bobby(Veronica), North Sydney; Linda (George) Fleming, Labrador City; Gordon( Darlene), British Columbia; Special Daughter Stella. Granny (Nan) will be sadly missed by her 21 Grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren whom she Dearly Loved.

Visitation will be help at Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home, 10 Clyde Ave, Sydney Mines on Thursday February 14, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9, Funeral Service at St. Joseph Church in Bras d’Or Friday February 15, 2012 at 10:30am with Rev. Peter McLeod Officiating, with burial at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery.
