Jack was a very outgoing, charismatic soul who loved people and was larger than life. One of his greatest abilities was forming lasting friendships, some of which spanned decades. His gentle nature, keen interest in telling stories and commitment to helping others made everyone around him feel comfortable and at ease.
When Jack was younger he was a shift foreman at Devco for thirty plus years until his retirement. He loved to dance and go to dances. He loved camping, travel, and watching his young kids ride their dirt bikes. He also had his own motorbike which he loved very much. He was also very proud of his beautiful view of the harbor and beach front property. He was known to take strangers into his home if they found themselves stranded, which is a true testament to his incredible kindness.
Jack was a loving and dedicated father, and loved his children and grandchildren fiercely. He was married for 54 years to the absolute love of his life. Where they both loved to spend time with each other as well as family and friends. Jack loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. He loved going to the coffee shop to meet up with friends old and new. Taking his grandchildren fishing was one of life’s greatest pleasures for him.
He will be forever remembered for his boisterous voice, caring heart and unconditional love. This gentle man has left a permanent mark etched on our hearts and will be forever loved and sorely missed.
He is survived by his wife Melvena (Matthews) Mann, son John (Tammy) Mann, daughter Deborah Mann, sisters Linda (Bill) Tanner and Lois (Bob) Walker and brother Michael (Bernadette) Mann.
