Mike was survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary; his six sons, Michael (Kelly), John, Chris, Derrick (Shauna), Jeff (Verna), Steven (Terri), his only daughter Anna (Paul); his sister Gloria (Scott) and several nieces and nephews. Mike is also survived by his loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. ‘Grandad’ shared a special love for each of his grandchildren and great grandchildren like no other. It was never a visit to Nanny and Grandad’s until Grandad slipped you a stick of Juicy Fruit gum.
Music played a large role in Mike’s life. HE loved not only to sing, but to entertain all those around him. He passed his love for music down through each family generation. Nothing filled his heart more than to see all his family together, singing at the annual ‘Spooney Parties’. Grandad loved nothing more than to share conversations and stories with his family.
Along with many others, Mike will be substantially missed by his fur baby “Molly Girl” who was not just a cat to him, but instead a best friend.
Mike was predeceased by his grandsons Ryan and Jonathan, his daughter-in-law Charlotte, his sister Kay and his nephew David.
Due to Covid a private family gathering will take place. The family invites those wishing to join the livestream being hosted on Fillmore & Whitman’s facebook page on Saturday, April 24 starting at 1pm.
