Mrs. Mildred Amelia Morgan Young

Mildred Amelia Young passed away October 1, 2010 surrounded by her loving family in the Northside General Hospital. Born September 4, 1936 in Sydney Mines she was a daughter of the late Carl and Helen (Donovan) Morgan.

Mildred enjoyed music, dancing and her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by husband, Daniel; sons, Doug (Glenda) Marsh, Billy (Colleen) Young, Troy (Bonnie) Young, all of Sydney Mines; sisters, Jean (Bob) MacGean, Yvonne (Doug) Serroul; brothers, Wallace (Dorothy) Morgan, Clarence Morgan, Carl (Lillian) Morgan; grandchildren, Adam, Ashley Dawn, Alyssa, Dylan, Evan, Gracie, Ashlea, Ceilidh and Cody; brothers in law, Melvin MacGean and Harley Mills; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Blanche Whitty, Eunice MacGean, and Eileen (Harold) Gerrow.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday, October 3, in Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. A funeral mass will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday October 5 in St. Pius X Church, Sydney Mines, Father Thomas John will officiate. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Sydney Mines. Donations in Mildred’s memory may be made to the Cape Breton Regional Cancer Unit.
