Ross Donovan

Hugh Ross Donovan born October 29, 1945 of Ingonish Harbour, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on April 24. He was the son of the late Patrick J. Donovan and late Marjorie (MacIntyre) Donovan as well as son-in-law of the late Cyril and Alice Bird. Ross left behind his wife of 54 years, Yvonne (Bird) Donovan, who was the love of his life. His girls Linda (Michael), Tammy (Dale) and Bonnie Jean (Eugene). His grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Lucas, Jenna, Katelynn and Emily. Ross spent all his life providing for his family lobster fishing, with his wife by his side. He was an active hunter and trapper over the years and could always be found out in his barn working on projects. He is survived by his sisters Connie (Late Hector) Therrien, Ottawa and Laura (John) Provost, Ottawa. Brothers Karl (late Janet), Ingonish, Angus (Isabel), Ottawa, and Allan (late Brenda) Ingonish. Predeceased by his son Baby Joseph Donovan. Brothers Patrick (Jean), Danny (Yvette), Mark (Carole) and sisters Hazel "Ona" (Tommy), Patricia and baby Linda. The family would like to thank all the Nurses and Doctors for their help along the way, and a special thank you to Dr. Ritter. There will be no service upon his request and if anyone would like to donate in his behalf please send to the North of Smokey Palliative care. Vonnie and family so sorry to hear about the passing of Ross Steven always spoke of him and whenever I saw him he waved or spoke . I remember Steven took him for an eye appointment I can imagine the laughs they had in the car. RIP

May you RIP Uncle Ross.. you fought a good fight but unfortunately the Master had other plans for you I guess.. I will never forget your hardy laugh and your big heart.. you and aunt Vonnie were meant to be together and God had blessed you both from the very beginning.. I know it'll be hard for aunt Vonnie not having you there physically but I know your spirit will let her know you are near.. you will be missed dearly.. love you!
