Friday, May 26, 2023 with his loving wife Jessie by his side.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Archibald and Catherine Pierre. Archie was a retired
employee of the Sydney Steel Corporation however his strong work ethic saw him with many
jobs past retirement, he always kept busy. Avid hockey fans, Archie and Jessie were dedicated
Screaming Eagles fans with season tickets for twelve years. Archie loved to laugh and had a
special twinkle in his eye, and it shone when he had a joke to tell or a funny story to share.
Archie and Jessie were always seen together, whether it was at hockey games, Chase the Ace,
or spending time with family in Northside East Bay. His grandchildren always loved a visit from
Papa Pierre and looked forward to his and Jessie’s visits especially on Christmas Eve.
Surviving are his loving wife, Jessie; daughter Corry (Johnny), Toronto; sons Danny (Sarah),
Toronto and John, Sydney. He was a loving grandfather to Ashlynn, Cole, Johnny, Nesta, Liam,
Ben and Iylah. Also left to mourn are his brother Joe and his sister Reccie (Bill) Appleton and
his daughter-in-law Heather LeBlanc.
In addition to his parents, Archie was predeceased by his first wife Jean Pierre, his brothers,
Scotty and Roddy and his sisters, Greta, Betty and Eileen and sister-in-law Willena.
A special thank you to the staff at Harbourstone Kenwood Hall, MacDougall’s court second floor
for their wonderful care of Archie, it was second to none.
Visitation will take place at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel on Wednesday, May 31, 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30pm on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel with Fr. Bill Burke officiating. Interment to follow at Hardwood Hills Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.twcurry.com.
