It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Barry Preston Moore Jr., age 50, on Monday, May 7, 2018. Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia on April 26, 1968, Barry was the son of the late Barry Moore Sr. and the late Linda Jane Moore (Johnson) of Membertou, NS.
Barry spent most of his life living in Membertou and was employed with Membertou Fisheries as a deckhand. Prior to this he spent most of his life working in the families’ hardwood floor business, alongside his dad, Barry Moore Sr., who was a well-known hardwood floor specialist in the Cape Breton area.
Barry was a devoted fan of his Montreal Canadians and never missed a game during playoff season. He enjoyed his Tim Hortons coffee, chatting with his old friends and making new friends alike. Barry always had a smile for everyone he met and never hesitated to take the time to say hello.
Barry is survived by his twin sons, Preston and Brett Denny, Halifax, Rio Johnson, Eskasoni; his one and only baby girl Brendalee Johnson, Eskasoni, siblings; Andrea Moore (Joe), Membertou, Derek Johnson (Sharon), Eskasoni, Lorelei MacEwan (Russell), Membertou, Miranda Marshall (Mike), Halifax, step-sister Marcella Marshall, Membertou; godson Evan Paul, Membertou, four grandchildren, and his very special friend Carol Sylvester, Membertou.
Barry will be lovingly remembered by all of his family members and the many friends he made throughout his lifetime.
Visitation will take place at the Moore family residence at 164 Membertou Street, Membertou, beginning on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 6 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at St. Marguerite Bourgoeys Parish on Monday, May 14th at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Membertou Memorial Gardens, Membertou.
