In her early years she worked at MacGillivary Guest Home, then for many years drove a school bus and most recently was employed at the Mira Stitch’n Post — a job which involved her greatest passion, quilting. She was lifetime member of the St. Margaret’s Ladies Aid in Grand Mira. She had many hobbies, some of which included ceramics, tole-painting, cake decorating, bunka and wood working. She was known to enjoy a good game of tarabish and was never afraid to speak her mind. The family would like to send a special thank you to Mom’s doctors, the staff and nurses at the QE II 4th floor Med Day Clinic, especially Paula Sudworth-Adams, and to Janice Black, whom Mom always referred to as her “Guardian Angel”.
Visitation for Bette will take place at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel on Tuesday, June 14, 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, June 15, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 16, at 11 a.m. at St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Grand Mira, with Rev. Paul McGillvray officiating.
Donations can be made to St. Margaret’s Cemetery Fund.
In honour of her memory we encourage you to become a blood donor.
