Christena ‘Tena’ Elizabeth Gillis, 82 of Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the residence.
Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Neil and Mary (MacKinnon) Gillis.
Tena was a former member of St. Theresa parish, Sydney.
She is survived by nieces Sheryl Hood; Christine (Darren) Hasara, both of New Jersey; nephews Wayne (Carol) Hood, Illinois and Neal Hood, New York and brother-in-law James Hood Jr.
She was predeceased by brother, Daniel Gillis and sister Helen Hood.
Funeral mass for the late Tena Gillis will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 10 at 10 am at St. Theresa Church with Rev. Jim Oliver officiating.
Family suggests memorials to St. Theresa Church or donor choice.
