We the family are deeply sorry to announce the sudden passing of Daniel Alexander MacArthur on June 9th at home in Coxheath. He was the son of the late Archie Edward and Jessie (MacIsaac) MacArthur. He is survived by his partner, Ruth Muggah, sons Dean, Colin, Ryan and family of Edmonton, Alberta. Also surviving are sisters, Penny (at home), Clara (Sandy) MacNeil, Sydney, Velma Gillis, Caribou March, brother Dan MacIsaac, sister-in-law Baba MacArthur and brother-in-law Angus Gillis. Daniel was closely connected to several cousins, nieces and nephews whom he loved to joke and carry on with. Many occasions were shared with Ruth's family, especially J. D. Daniel was predeceased by his sister Ann, brothers Edward and Bryne, niece Heather Gillis and nephew Michael MacIsaac.
Daniel started his work career as a Business teacher, followed by many years with N.S. Housing and finished with C.B. Regional Housing. He enjoyed his time and friendships made as a member of KOC and the Men's Choir. The family is very grateful to the first responders and Dr. Steve MacDougall's and office staff for their years of care.
A funeral service for Daniel will be held Monday, June 16, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 1452 Kings Rd, Sydney River, NS., with a short reception to follow in the hall. Daniel will be laid to rest in St. Margaret's of Scotland Parish Cemetery, Grand Mira South Road, Grand Mira South, Nova Scotia.
