Dan “Fuzzy” MacDonald, 57 of West Bay and formerly of Beacon Street, Sydney, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2011 in the Strait Richmond Hospital.
Born in Sydney, Dan was the son of Mrs. Teresa MacDonald of Sydney and the late Frank MacDonald.
He retired from Syncrude in Fort McMurray in 2009 after thirty-three years of employment. Dan was dedicated to providing for his family for which he cared so deeply.
Upon his retirement, Dan enjoyed sharing his time with his family and friends at his summer home in West Bay, Cape Breton.
Dan was an avid outdoor enthusiast and spent many happy hours kayaking, fishing, and appreciating the nature and beauty of Cape Breton Island.
He is survived by his wife, Lois (MacNeil), and children, Heather (Peter), Iain and Teresa; sisters Maureen (Mike), Jane, and Monica; brothers, Bill (Liz) and Tom; nieces, Jessica and Lee Beth; and nephew, Philip.
Visitation for the late Mr. MacDonald will be from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, September 5 in T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6th in St. Joseph's Church.
