We are sad to announce the passing of Edna Josephine Lewis, 63, of Sydney, formerly of Eskasoni, on January 28, 2020 at home.

She was the daughter of the late Martha Lewis and Edward Poulette and foster daughter of the late John and Mary Toney.

Survived by her partner Darrell Gouthro, son Jason Lewis (Rina Denny), granddaughter Merissa Denny, great-grandchildren, Deshawn, April, Addyson, Amaya, sisters Marilyn Lewis, Patsy Lewis, Shirley Virden, Maureen Sullivan, Harriet Lewis, Annette Lewis and Joanne Lewis, brothers Russell Lewis, Elmer Lewis, Gordon Lewis and Godchild, Chico Denny.

Besides her parents and foster parents, she was predeceased by siblings, Wilbur Lewis, Miranda Gabriel, Janie Lewis, Pauline Lewis, John Lewis, Maggie Rose MacFarlane and great granddaughter Amelia Denny.

Visitation will take place at the Gabriel Center, Eskasoni after 7pm on Sunday February 2, 2020. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday February 4, 2020 at Holy Family Church, Eskasoni with Fr. Asor celebrating. Salite to follow burial.
