It is with great sadness that the family of Evelyn (Saunders) Tobin, announce her passing at Inverary Manor, Inverness on November 10, 2020, less than a month before her 90th birthday.

Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. If desired, donations in Evelyn’s memory may be made to either the Alzheimer Society or the Inverary Manor.

Nana Tobin was an absolutely wonderful woman. Probably the best cook I've ever had the pleasure of being in the company of. I cannot recall her ever having a cross word toward anyone and have only the fondest of memories. Every year at Christmas when we'd have supper she'd make the most absolutely perfect trifle, and she'd always make these sweet potatoes with marshmallows browned on the top (they were my favorite). Because of her I always play Roger Whitaker during the holidays as he and Bing Crosby were always playing on the console stereo they had in the living room. Such wonderful memories.

My dad was Vince Tobin, Theodore’s brother and he died at 57. Your mom and dad didn’t forget my mom and would drop in and visit occasionally. I have simple memories of the three of them talking, laughing and enjoying each other’s company. It is easy for me to remember your mom as a kind, loving woman and I am sure your house was full of the same.

Thank you for allowing me to join with your family in this small way in appreciation of a life well lived.

Respectfully,

Cyril Tobin and Family

Would just like to say to Evelyn children and grandchildren, that I was sorry to hear of Evelyn ‘s passing. You have my deepest condolences. My mother was Anastasia, and my father was Theodore’s brother, Vincent.
( I have been away for so many years that I really don’t expect you to know me)
My memories of your mom are of many years ago and I remember her as a very sweet woman, who was interested in my youthful travels.
Your first cousin
