We are sad to announce to passing of Everett ‘Ed’ Landry, on Feb 7, 2020, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born September 2nd 1929 in Sydney, He was the son of the late Simon and Annie Jane (MacEachern) Landry.
Ed was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force for 30 years, he was the driver for Generals both in Canada and abroad. He was an avid music lover of all genres, especially during the war years. Ed enjoyed dancing and singing, he had a beautiful voice. Ed also collected movies, and could tell you every actor, producer, director for the past 50 years.
As a true Cape Bretoner, his refreshment of choice was Rum and he would always say he was spending time with “the Captain”. Ed had a great sense of humour and always told it the way he saw it, and was a very good person. He was a member of the Kinsman, for many years, giving back to the community.
Ed, is survived by the love of his life Ann Marie (MacNeil), they married over 64 years ago. He is also survived by his sister Marion Robertson; Halifax, nieces and nephews; Ellison Robertson, Stewart Robertson, Cathy Colville, Franklyn Clark, Doug Hubley, Everett Hubley, Kenneth Hubley, Sharon Fields, and Charlotte Harrison.
He is predeceased by his parents and siblings Frank Landry and Velma Hubley.
Cremation has taken place as per his request, with a burial at a later date.
