Frances Flora Dennis

September 25, 1952 – July 29, 2012

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of Frances Flora Dennis on Sunday, July 29, 2012.

Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Noel Dennis and Mary Doucette.

Frances owned and operated her own store for a number of years in Eskasoni. She was a well-known person who cared for the elderly and the young. For a number of years, she was employed as a caregiver with the Eskasoni Health Centre. She was an avid bingo player and always enjoyed a good game of cards and got great joy from her grandchildren. A talented crafts person, Frances was especially good with her quill work. Frances will always be remembered for her great sense of humor.

Frances is survived by her daughters, Ruby and Stephanie Paul; her grandson, who resided with her, Hugh Paul; her loving companion, John MacLennan, her godchildren; siblings, Charles (Helen), Jean (Frank) Googoo, Gerald, Cora (Brian) Sheppard, George (Ginger), Cecelia Kabatay, Steve (Florence), James (Debbie), Veronica (“Jr.”), Noel Jr. (Cathy), Annette (Muin) Bernard and Lawrence (Sarah) Doucette. By extended family, Vernon Doucette, Iris Doucette and Gail Stevens, stepfather, Abraham (Sarah) Doucette, grandchildren, Everette, Francine, Nadine, Evander, Kris, Stephen, Maureen, Braedon, Celine and Seven, great grandson Anderson Paul; by aunts Mary Julia and Dolena, several nieces and nephews, godmother Mary Jane Dennis, godfather Frank Dennis and ex husband Edward J. Paul.

She was predeceased by her grandchildren, Colleen Paul and Christian Paul, sister, Marlene Dennis and extended family, Norman, Keith, John Duncan and Pamela Doucette.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 4, 2012 after 7 pm at the Gabriel Centre and will continue until funeral mass at 10:30 am on Monday, August 6 at Holy Family Church with Rev. Martin MacDougall officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery.
