Born in North Sydney, he was the son of the Late John and Martha (Macdonald) Marshall. Kaplie’l was a community member of Eskasoni First Nation and always greeted you with a huge smile and would listen to anyone who needed a friend. Kaplie’l had worked as an addictions councillor and was a friend of Bill.
While living in Toronto for many years, Kaplie’l was very affectionate about teaching the Mi’kmaw language program at the Friendship centre. His love for family and friends was amazing and was not afraid to listen to anyone with a 2–3 hour phone call daily. Kaplie’l loved to share stories and would listen.
Left to mourn his passing are daughter Priscilla Googoo (Wagmatcook), Grand Children, Fallon, Gabriel, Kalolin (Jacob Gould Paul) and Daryl Ryan. Also, great granddaughter Alexia. Brother Albert D. Marshall (Eskasoni) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Beside his parents, Kaplie’l was predeceased by his siblings, Pius, Peter, Thomas, Alfred G. Marshall and one sister Catherine (John) Jeddore. He was the godchild of the late Elizabeth Marshall.
Special thanks to the Heritage Home in Toronto along with all their wonderful doctors, staff and friends
