It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary James Haley on June 6, 2013 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Oshawa, Ontario, he was the son of the late Edward and Marguerite (Shannon) Haley.
He was a member of Sacred Heart parish in Sydney. Throughout his life Gary was a kind and generous person. He was an excellent cook and some of his fondest memories were spent working alongside his parents at Haley’s Restaurant and Steak House. He had a passion for horse racing and his favourite past time was watching sports, especially his Montreal Canadians.
Gary is survived by his sister Arlene (Robert) Rutledge; nephew Steven Rutledge, all of Albert Bridge.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, June 9 from 7-9 pm at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 am at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Conrad Edwards officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
