It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the MacNeil family announce the passing of Malcolm “George” MacNeil on September 19, 2023 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
George was born on Feb 15, 1945, in Middle Cape, Nova Scotia to the late John Rodrick(Roddy) MacNeil and Theresa (Dolly) MacNeil. George spent his working years at Martin Marietta Materials in Port Hawkesbury, NS (Porcupine Mountain) until his retirement.
George will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Catherine, Daisy and his two sons, Wayne and Vincent. He also leaves behind his cherished grandson, Ethan Robertson, his daughter in law, Amy Robertson and his brother Pius (Debbie).
Predeceased by his brothers Augustus (Gus), Joseph (Joe), and Peter(Donna).
George was one of the kindest souls on this planet, He was a gentle, giving man who worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed. He faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Cremation has taken place, and no service is planned at this time.
