Local business man James Sampson passed away Dec 6, 2014 at the Cove
Guest Home, Sydney after a long illness.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of James and Sarah Ann (McNeil) Sampson.
Jim was a member of St. Mary’s Parish, East Bay. He worked for many years in
Sydney and was the founder of Jim Sampson Motors. Active in local affairs,he
was fond of hosting friends and family at his beloved Ben Eoin home. His
Canada Day lobster feasts were memorable.
He is survived by his sons John (Charlottetown), Bradley (Toronto), daughter
Shirlene (Rochester, MN) and brother Frank (Sydney). He is also survived by his
grandchildren Ryan, Mark, Tristan and Tate.
Jim was predeceased by his wife Shirley (MacDonald), and siblings Mary, Joe,
Theresa, and John.
Visitation will be held at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel Monday, Dec 8th from
6-9pm.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Dec 9th 2:30 pm at St. Mary’s
Catholic Church, East Bay.
Memorial donations in Jim’s memory may be made to a charity of ones choice.
