Jessie Ann MacPherson

September 7, 1926December 27, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear sister, Jessie MacPherson (MacIsaac) on Sunday, December 27.

Born on September 7, 1926 in Aspy Bay, Victoria County, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Magdlean (MacNeil) MacIsaac. During her younger years, Jessie worked at various domestic service jobs throughout Cape Breton. She was an avid shuffleboard player, and a proud member of the Royal Canadian Branch 12 Legion. She and her husband Jack could be found on any summer evening relaxing on the Sydney Boardwalk. Jessie was most content while spending time at her family homestead in Northern Cape Breton.

Jessie is survived by her brother Donald (Bunny), and sisters Florence, Tena, and Susie. She is predeceased by her loving husband Jack MacPherson, sisters Margaret, Annie, Mary, and brothers Edward, John, Jim, Ronald and two infant brothers. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as many devoted, loyal friends whom she loved so dearly.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel, Sydney. Interment will be at St. Margaret's Parish Cemetery, Bay St. Lawrence at a later date. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.twcurry.com.

While I didnt see Jessie a great deal after moving away from the area I knew of the friendship she shared with my mother Mary and the laughs they had. Mom spent many a day at the MacIssac's in her early years- with Madeline and all of the family and was always treated like she was one of them. Her and Jessie loved to laugh and mimic and remained good friends from childhood to adulthood. I remember a story about Jessie flashing a picture of a certain relative in a unflattering pose during church just to see the reactions and who could stifle their laughter. Mom would say " O that jessie ,what a rig " One of the great pleasures in life growing up was to see my mom laugh and I know Jessie provided many of those moments. She was a special friend for sure. Sincere sympathy to Donald , Bunny and all of the family

My condolences to Donald, Bunny & all the family.
Jessie was a dear friend of my mother, Mary Fitzgerald. (Whiteley) I remember we would visit her when she came home in the summer. She was always so glad to see us and “ had the tea on “ as soon as we sat down. She & Mom would recall the good old days and all the “characters” that were part of their years growing up. I can still see Mom doubled over in laughter, as Jessie told one of her comical stories! For some strange reason, I seem to recall she had beautiful long, painted nails.( I hope my memory isn’t failing me and I’m correct on this point. If not, my apologies.) As a kid, maybe you notice things like that, as it wasn’t all that common to see.
I know it’s comforting to you all, to think about Jessie reunited with her loved ones that have gone on before.
I spent very little time with her, but I always knew through Mom, what a truly special person Jessie was.

God Bless Aunt Jessie. One of the nicest people I've ever known. If you needed help or just to chat, she was there. Family was important to Jessie, and she to us. We'll miss and love you always.

So very sorry to hear of jessies passing. She was a very dear sweet lady who looked after me when i was around 5 years old and had to spend time in bed due to illness at my dads home in A spy Bay.
I will never forget her kindness at that time and over the years when i would visit with her and Jack, she always remained a close friend and i send condolences to her sisters Florence and Susan as well as her brother Donald and his family as well as other family members. I had a wonderful visit with her in Dec. Of last year before Covid hit and great memories of that visit.Jessie had many friends who will miss her..May she rest in peace.
