It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Joshua Michael Howard, 27 of Massachusetts and Eskasoni, on June 14, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Born in Attleboro, Mass., he was the son of Jason and Julie.

Joshua was a kind, loving person who would anything for anyone. He loved his family and enjoyed making people laugh and he would be considered by many to be an all-round great person. He enjoyed all types of music especially country and rock. He was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan.

He is survived by his parents Jason (Claudine) Johnson and Julie Rifai, siblings Tyler and Maria Johnson; Ahmad ‘AJ’ and Laila Rifai; grandparents Leo and Annie Johnson; Dana Leonard and Joanne Howard; godparents Leo Johnson III and Angeline Carlin along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation for Joshua Howard will begin after 7 pm on Monday, June 19, 2017 at the Gabriel Center, Eskasoni. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 21 at 10:30 am at Holy Family Church with Fr. Martin MacDougall officiating. His final resting place will be in Massachusetts.
