It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our son, Kanen Billy Hurley on Tuesday July 22, 2014.

Born in Sydney, he was the beloved son of Julie Anne Porter and Billy Gerard Hurley.

Beside his parents Kanen is survived by his brothers, Ayden, Eric, and Sonni; maternal grandparents; Chief Terry and Tracey Paul of Membertou, Ralph and Wanda Porter of New Brunswick; his paternal grandparents, Billie Jo Campbell, Thomas Hurley and great grandparents Gerard and Helen Hurley and Bob Porter, he is also survived by many aunts and uncles.

He was predeceased by his sister, Layla and brother Denzel; his uncle Jason Porter, and cousins, Hannah and Jack; great grandparents, Carl and Margaret Moore, Phillip and Philomena MacEwan, Gladys Porter and Minnie and Dr. Peter Paul.

Visitation for Kanen will begin after 7 p.m. on Monday, July 28 at 51 Bradley Street, Membertou and will continue until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Wednesday July 30 at St. Ann’s Church, Membertou. Rev. Bill Burke will officiate. Interment in Membertou Memorial Gardens.

Kanen you brought so much love and joy to all of us in the short time you were here, you will never be forgotten your spirit will always be near.
