45 – Middle River
It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Kerrie Lynn (MacNeil) MacKenzie, age 45 of Middle River, on Monday, September 22, 2014, as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
Born August 11, 1969, Kerrie was the daughter of Jimmy Hector and Gerry (MacDonald) MacNeil of Washabuck. She worked as a hair stylist at the Alderwood Rest Home in Baddeck for the past 26 years.
Along with her parents, Kerrie is survived by her loving husband Sandy and three cherished children; Emma (Nolan) Fraser, Margaree; Carter and Kailyn, at home; granddaughter “Nanny’s little puddin” Paityn; sister, Juanita (Kevin) MacNeil; mother-in-law Joan MacKenzie; sister-in-law, Jean (Donnie) MacDougall; brothers-in-law Carl (Julia), David (Annette); nephews, Curtis (Allison), David, Ryan, Miguel, Rowan, Joe, Ryan; nieces, Jenna, Quinn; great niece Eilidh; great nephew Finley and many special aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Kerrie was predeceased by her father-in-law, Allister MacKenzie and two brothers, James and Sheldon both in infancy.
Devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, nanny and a true friend to so many, Kerrie will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all. Her smile could brighten any room. Kerrie’s greatest pleasure came from spending time with her family and friends, laughing and telling stories. She could often be found cheering on her children in rinks, soccer fields and basketball courts.
Arrangements are under the direction of T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Visitation will be held Friday, September 26 from 2-9 pm in Farquharson Memorial Presbyterian Church, Middle River, where we will also hold a celebration of Kerrie’s life on Saturday, September 27 at 2 pm.
