Linda 'Lace' Marie Townsend

Linda Marie (Johnston) Townsend, 52 of Sydney, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family.

Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of Mrs. Agnes (MacNeil) Johnston, Sydney and the late John ‘Jack’ Johnston.

She was a member of St. Theresa parish. She always enjoyed a good laugh, line dancing, bowling and especially being Mom to her boys. Linda worked for a number of years in the retail industry at K-mart and the Bay and more recently was employed in the cafeteria at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

She is survived by her husband William ‘Bill’; 3 sons Christopher (Glenda); David, both of Alberta; Matthew at home; 2 brothers Michael (Sharon), Dartmouth; Scott (Terri), Sydney River and also by several nieces and nephews.

Linda was predeceased by her twin sister in infancy.

Visitation for the late Linda Townsend will take place today (Friday) at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 am at St. Theresa Church with Rev. Conrad Edwards officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
