Louis Sylvester Candelora

It is with sadness of heart that we announce the passing of Louis Sylvester Candelora Jr. on January 5th, 2025. Born to Louis and Mary Evelyn (Hennick) Candelora of Lingan Road on September 11, 1942. He is survived by his brothers Donald (Beatrice), Robert and Ernie, sisters Wanda, Joan and Mona (Scott) Burt as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and very special and longtime friend Vilma Burke.

Louis, or Junior, as he was more commonly known was a lifelong dairy farmer who worked the family farm for over 65 years. He also worked for 20 years as a school bus driver for the Cape Breton School Board. Junior was a strong man of faith and a longtime member of Holy Redeemer Parish who tried to live life in keeping with his faith, love, compassion and caring for others.

Besides his parents, Junior was predeceased by siblings Michael, Patsy and Mary.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 10th, from 5 - 8pm at TW Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George St., Sydney. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 11th at 10:00am at Holy Redeemer Church, 1135 Victoria Rd., with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Haven Cemetery at a later date. If desired, donations in Junior's memory may be made to Holy Redeemer Parish.
