Our beloved Lucy Ramey left us this morning, September 01, just a month away from her 97th birthday. A wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Aunty and friend, Lucy finally reunites with her Mom and Dad, Lena and Sylvie Sylvester, her sister and brother-in-law Josephine and Ray MacPherson, her husband Bobby, her step-daughter Rose Marie and the many, many friends, relatives and colleagues whom she’s touched over the years.
Left to mourn are her son and daughter-in-law Robyn and Christie, grandchildren Morgan (Mario), Taylor (David) and Avery (Wesley) and David (Sheri) and his children Samantha, William and Ethan, nieces and nephews Ann-Marie, John, Raylene, Marian and Terry and their spouses and children. Also left behind are her extended family, step son-in-law Pierre and his family Andree, Julia, and Bethany and their families, and honorary extended family member Dave Clemens.
Lucy lived a full life with a long career at Maritime Tel & Tel followed by a fun-filled retirement with lots of family time fueled by new grandchildren and all the adventure they bring to life. She enhanced those retirement years with volunteering, bowling, bingo, making new puzzles, playing scrabble, and visits to the casino, all the while making lots of new friends and acquaintances along the way.
Her final years were under the most excellent care of the staff and volunteers of the MacGillivray Guest Home where she was cared for, comforted and loved, and we can’t thank the Team at MacGillivray enough for their warm dedication to Mom and the others in their care. Doctors Buhariwalla and Archibald passionately guided Mom through her twilight years and everyone who knew and loved her may find comfort knowing of her most gentle and peaceful passing in such a warm and caring environment.
A visitation will be held at TW Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George St., Sydney on Thursday, Sept. 7 from 6 until 9pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at 10am on Friday at St. Theresa Church, 381 Whitney Ave with Fr. Evo DiPierro officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at Forest Haven Cemetery.
