Jimmy was a friend to all, he had a quick wit, infections smile and a little bit of an evil streak. He made fast and lasting friendships wherever he went. He and his loving wife Gerry raised their two daughters and have watched generations grow around them in their home, in Lower Washabuck.
Jimmy left school at an early age in search of work to help support his family. While he worked many jobs he spoke fondly of his career with the highway for over 25 years. Not one to sit still he picked up a paper route many years after his retirement and was loved by all of his customers for his thoughtfulness and griendship. Jimmy was a devoted volunteer in his community with the Iona Volunteer fire dept. , highland village, Washabuck community center and St. Columba Parish to name a few. This speaks volumes of his selflessness and love of giving. Jimmy loved any social gathering and could be found at dances, square sets, bingo and card games. He loved his hockey and baseball and was a proud member of the Washabuck Saints.
Jimmy is survived and sorely missed by loving daughter Juanita (Kevin), Son-in-law Sandy (Susan), grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Curtis (Alison), who was like a son to him, Emma (Nolan), Carter (Natasha), Kailyn and Noah. The light of his life, his little Bompie’s, his great grandchildren; Eilidh Grace, Finley, Jaxon, Paityn and Issac, sister Josie, brother John Hector (Juanita), brothers-in-law Roddy (Judy) and Arnold, uncle Malcolm and many nieces and nephews and countless friends.
Jimmy was predeceased and welcomed warmly into heaven by his loving wife Gerry, beloved daughter Kerrie and sons in infancy James and Sheldon, his parents Anna and Hector, sisters; Sadie (Michael), Kaye (Roddy), Sissy, brother George, sister-in-law Clare, and brother-in-law Richard.
