Monnie is also survived by a large extended family who was a big part of her life. Prior to her marriage, Monnie was employed with R.J. Logue car dealership. She devoted most of her life to caring for her husband and children. Monnie spent many summers at the cottage in Ben Eoin, where all were welcome to enjoy the beach, campfires and great Lebanese food. She and John moved permanently to Ben Eoin, where they lived for many years. Monnie had many interests in life. She enjoyed playing cards and was a member of the Cape Breton Bridge Club. She participated in many Progressive Conservative events throughout her lifetime. She served as president of the Lebanese and Syrian Women’s Club and was a very active member of the St. Theresa’s CWL. The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles had great fan support from Monnie and John, who held season tickets for many years. Monnie will be lovingly remembered for her strong faith, her strong family ties, her sense of humour, and her traditional Lebanese cooking. The family would like to thank all of the kind people from City Homemakers, the VON and palliative care, who took such good care of our mother. In lieu of flowers, donations in Monnie’s memory may be made to the Cape Breton Palliative Care Society or a charity of one’s choice. In lieu of visitation, the family will accept condolences at an open house at Monnie's late residence at 400 Kings Road, Apt. 408, Sydney, on Sunday, June 1 from 2 to 8 p.m. A celebration of Monnie`s life will take place on Monday, June 2 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Sydney River, with Rev.
