OBITUARY
Marie Teresa Lynch Peacocke
August 8, 1924 – July 26, 2014
Marie (Lynch) Peacocke - We are deeply saddened by the passing of our mother, Marie (Lynch) Peacocke on July 26th. She lived her life with style, purpose and grace. She was an ideal friend – never forgetting an occasion, a birthday or a gesture. She was a devoted grandmother – involved in the personalities, successes and challenges of her grandchildren. She was an especially loving mother and wife – leaving an indelible mark on the people she loved most. So it seems fitting that she suddenly passed from us on a weekend when many adoring friends and relatives gathered to celebrate her 90th birthday at her favourite place – the bungalow in Northside East Bay. Marie was a golfer, a curler, a bridge player, a community volunteer, a role model and much more. From the time that she grew up in Whiteside, Cape Breton she never saw boundaries. She met each day as a new opportunity to connect with others, to make a difference and to learn something new.
She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Laura Ullyott (Kevin) of Calgary and Mona Lynch of Halifax. She will be forever remembered by her five grandchildren, Tara (Kelvin Moore), Logan, Brett, Brock and Luke; sisters, Anita Hurd and Jean Jenkins of Brantford Ont., Patricia (John) MacKenzie, Antigonish, her brother, Francis (Brenda) White, Whiteside; cousin, Gerald White (Susan), Grosse Pointe, Michigan, Barbara Peacocke (the late Jerome), Dartmouth, Sean Peacocke (Lindsey), Ian Peacock, Neal Peacocke and many dear nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husbands, John B. Lynch of Sydney and Douglas D. Peacocke of Dartmouth; parents, Mayme (Cameron) and Duncan White of Whiteside, NS.; sisters, Clare McArthur (the late Mike) of Oshawa and Thelma Campbell (John).
Visitation will take place at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George Street, Sydney, NS, Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Mary's Parish Church, 3944 East Bay Hwy, Nova Scotia on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 2:30 pm. followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Marie Peacocke Bursary at NSCAD, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, or a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.twcurry.com

Dear Laura and Mona
We have lived away from each other far longer than we were neighbours in Sydney. I remember you mother's smile, grace and style. She always welcomed us into your home for treats and birthday parties. I know how you will miss her and I just wanted to let you know that I remember, you both as well as your mom and dad.
With sincere condolences

Mona and Laura
your mom really did live her life as your say, with grace and poise, not to mention a good dose of humour. I last saw her at a funeral and we had a good chat afterward. My own Mom passed in Feb of this year, and like your mother, she had her wit and wisdom to the end. That is a real gift. She lived her life to the fullest. My thoughts are with you both.

Marie was a beautiful person who embraced all that life had to offer. I was saddened to hear of Marie's death over the weekend and my thoughts and prayers are with her family. As a former member of the Board of the Heart and Stroke Foundation here in Nova Scotia Marie continued to have an interest in the work of the Foundation. My work with the Foundation prompted me to see her in East Bay last summer...and I have a great picture of her to share with the family. As a fellow bridge player, we arranged to play recently (a lovely game!), and I last spoke with Marie at the CanAt, the largest bridge tournament in our Region where she was enjoying the challenges of the game. Marie will be missed and fondly remembered.
