It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Mary Margaret (Margie) Gardiner, who passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 in Sydney at 85 years of age after a short illness.
Born to the late Joseph and Annie (MacKinnon) MacMullan, Margie was a long time teacher at Temperance Street Elementary School in New Glasgow and is fondly remembered by students and teachers alike. Her true passion was her family and she loved nothing better than family summers at the compound in Hay Cove.
Besides her parents, Margie was predeceased by her brothers Donald and Joseph and sisters Catherine and Frances. She is survived and will be sadly missed by her children Karen Gardiner and Donald (Kim) Gardiner, grandchildren Grace, Madison and Jackson, brother Roddie (Patsy), brother-in-law Pat Bates, sister-in-law Joyce MacMullen, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, January, 23 at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Church in Johnstown with Fr. John Yake officiating. Inurnment at a later date will take place in Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery.
