She was born on October 8, 1921, at the family home in French Road, Cape Breton.
She is predeceased by her husband Joe, her parents Allan D. and Rachael McCormick, and sisters Margaret Williams, Kay MacDougall, Sally Johnson, and brother Danny McCormick.
Mary Jane is survived by her children: Judy, Ann Marie (Barry), Francis (Connie), Allan (Karen), Owen, and Clem; her grandchildren: Brandon (Victoria), Ryan (Jenn), Erin (James), Ron (Heather), Jane (Mark) and Emily; and her great grandchildren Claire, Eloise, Jake, Charlie.
A beloved Mother, Grandparent, Aunt, and friend, Mom was always young of heart and full of fun and laughter. She loved playing cards, dancing, and the occasional drink of brandy. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish CWL and worked at the Holy Angels Convent.
Visitation will be at the TW Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George St. from 7:00-9:00 pm on Wednesday, May 8. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 9 at Our Lady of Fatima Church with Father Norman MacPhee officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
