A wonderful mother and grandmother who devoted her whole life to caring for her family. She was an amazing cook and loved to bake. She was the first to help whenever anything was needed. She enjoyed her Tuesday evening card club with the girls. Every year our family moved to the bungalow, in Mira, for the summer months, we all loved every moment of it. Mamie and Teddy loved to surround themselves with family and friends. Every August, mom organized a huge birthday party to celebrate her mom, Bridget. In later years, this turned into our annual Family Day. Mamie was truly a Pier girl. After living in the Pier all her life, Mom and Dad moved to their beloved, Mira to enjoy their retirement years. For the past three years she resided at CND unit, MacGillivray Guest Home. She enjoyed the company and companionship of caring staff and the sisters of CND.
As per Mamie's wishes, there will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass will take place at St Joseph's Church, Mira Ferry at 11:00am, Monday, August 7th. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery with reception to follow at Union Presbyterian Church Hall, Mira Ferry In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Alzheimers Society, or MacGillivray Guest Home.
