I attended St Johns with Mel and Anne Marie . I remember  mel as a great athlete , and a genuine nice person .  Please accept my condolences for your loss . 


My condolence to the family.  It has been many years since I have seen Melvin and his family.  His brother Joe and I spent many a night playing cards until we moved West.

I'm very sorry to hear of Uncle Melvins passing. I still remember the house on 5 Court street. I had hoped to see him when I was there this summer. I'm very glad my mom got to see him.
The memory we all have of Melvin will never be lost. I'm glad the boys can go fishing again.

So sorry to hear of Uncle Melvin’s passing.  The last time I seen him was when I returned to Glace Bay with my dads ashes in 1992
My dad (Bernie Egan) and Melvin were brothers.  I got to dance with him and enjoyed his company

I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Melvin earlier this week. When I think of him, I think of happier times - periods of good health and good cheer. He was always generous with me and I can remember him teaching me how to fly fish in the brook at the bungalow.  I'm afraid I wasn't the best pupil, but he showed both wisdom and patience as I plodded through his lessons. He's at peace now ... God bless you all.

It's been many years since I've seen Melvin or any of the family. I was a live in babysitter in the 70's. I have such fond memories  I have always kept in my heart. Melvin was such a good soul. My condolences to the family my thoughts and prayers are with you. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of Melvin's death.  Melvin and I are first cousins,. His Mom and my Dad were sibblings.  I have not seen Mel since School days in Aberdeen.  He was a great young man, cousin and filled with laughter.  They were so kind to us kids when our Dad died at an early age.  Rest in peace, dear Melvin. I didn't know Melvin very  long but he always came into my workplace with a smile and a big box of doughnuts.  He was always full of stories of Cape Breton, his cottage and fishing.  He loved to talk about his grandchildren and was always fixing things around the clinic.  We would have a list a mile long to hand to him when he came up to visit Leigh.  We sure did miss him when he became ill. Our list was always close by just incase he came again.  I was humbled to have known him and he touched my heart with his kindness.  Enjoy those big fish way up there my friend!
