Patrick 'Pat' Murphy85 - SydneyPatrick (Pat) Murphy 85, of Sydney passed away on Saturday December 12, 2009 at home. Born in Margaree, he was the son of the late Martin and Judith Murphy. Pat was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish, Whitney Pier, and was employed as a Truck and Taxi driver for many years. He also enjoyed working on old cars in his backyard and had a great love for his little dog Rilley. He is survived by his wife Helen, sons; James of Ont, Pat Jr. (Tracy) of Ben Eion, daughters; Colleen (Sam) Graham, Ann (Richard) Ward, both of Sydney, Martha Barnes, Helena Walker, Patricia Walker, all of Ont, Rosanna Keeping and Russell Walker both of Sydney, sisters; Alice Cormier, Bridget MacKeough, Lil Landsburg, Carmel Timmons, Ursala Butler, Grace McNabb, brothers; Dennis, Kevin, Eugene, Hughie, Ranold and Martin as well as many grandchildren. Visitation for Pat will be held today (Monday) from 2-4 and 7-9pm in T.W Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George St., Sydney, 902-539-3002. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009 at 11 am in Holy Redeemer Church, Whitney Pier with Fr. Errol MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks. Donations in Pats memory may be made to the Cape Breton Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
