Surrounded by her loving family, Rebecca Jane Young, a resident of Harbourstone Enhanced care, Steelworkers Lane, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011.

Born in Margaree, she was the daughter of the late John and Hilda (Syms) Murphy. Besides her parents, Rebecca was predeceased by her loving husband William, her siblings Mary, May, Bernadette, Alex, John, Michael and Malcolm.

Rebecca was a member of Saint Mary’s parish, East Bay and a woman of great faith, who said the rosary every evening.

Rebecca is survived by her four daughters Florence (Hugh) Hayes; Bernadette (Wayne) Quinn; Jane (Benny) Lively; Germaine (Donnie) Hayes; three sons, Frank (Diane); John (Mary) and Michael (Darlene). She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Rebecca is also survived by her sisters Irene, Hilda and Ann; brothers, Mose, Benny and Norbert and brother-in-law Raymond (Susie) Young.

Visitation for Mrs. Young will take place on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s, East Bay with Rev. Frank Abbass officiating. Burial to take place in the parish cemetery.
