Ryan Dennis Googoo

November 20, 1962July 24, 2020

It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Ryan Dennis Googoo on Friday, July 24 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Ryan was born on Nov. 20, 1962 to the late Roddie and Matilda Googoo. He grew up in a large family and this is where he developed his strong sense of community and always looking out for each other. He had a big heart and if any ever needed anything he would be one of the first to jump in to lend a hand. He was a true jack of all trades. Over the years he was involved in many fundraisers. He volunteered with the Eskasoni Volunteer Firefighters. He helped out with burials in the cemetery or anytime someone needed a hand. He also loved fishing, cards and bingo and was a devoted Habs fan. Ryan is survived by his wife Hazel, children Jeffrey (Ralcie), Jessica (Chuck), Ryan (Kanisha), Gina, Santa “lala” (Jeremy), Mary C. (Austin), Lila (James), grandchildren; Andy, Andielee, Ekkian, Jeremy, Orion and Dallas, siblings Roderick (Christine), Barbara (David), Laura Mae, Florence (Clarence), Anita, Doreen, Linda Marie (Hazel), Francis Joseph (Dorothy), Karen, Trudy and Stephen (April), best friends Barry Bernard, George T. and Frank Dennis, his honorary mother Viney Sappier, brothers-in-law Frances and Anthony as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Besides his parents he was predeceased by grandmother Mary Dennis Googoo, siblings Susie Jane, Mary Isabel, Robert Joseph, Annie Bridget, Sheila Marie, Kenneth Anthony, Raymond Francis, Rose Ann, Clara, Pauline and Delorence, daughters Maureen and Margaret as well as one grandson Kendren. Visitation will start on Saturday, August 1 at 7:00pm at 137 Spencers Lane, Eskasoni. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am on Monday, August 3 at Holy Family Church, Eskasoni with Fr. Antolin Asori officiating. Due to seating restrictions in the church the service is limited to family only. Memories and condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.twcurry.com.
