Teresa Evelyn MacDonald, passed away on Monday June 1, 2015 at the age of 89, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

She was born to the late Thomas and Jessie Ann (MacDougall) Keating on July 11, 1925.

Teresa grew up in Whitney Pier and attended Holy Angels High School before graduating from the St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Glace Bay.

Teresa enjoyed her early years as a nurse working in Cape Breton and the United States. Later she enjoyed raising her children on Beacon Street and spending time with family especially her grandchildren, at the cottage in Northside East Bay. She loved art work, gardening, sports, and summer activities at the cottage. She also loved animals and had many cherished pets throughout the years.

Teresa is survived by her sister, Rita (MacDonald) and sister-in-law Marie Keating. She will be missed by her children Maureen (Mike), Bill (Liz), Tim, Jane and Monica and daughter-in-law Lois. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Jessica (David), Phillip (Joanna & Kaydin), Heather (Mark), Lee Beth (Scott), Iain and Teresa, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Frank James MacDonald and her son Daniel. She was also predeceased by her sisters Mary, Jane, Cecelia MacKenzie and brothers Raymond, Daniel and John.

Funeral service will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel with Rev. Albert Maroun officiating.
